"For the Mental among us"
​"We started with the word Mental, A word that we thought we knew, and we thought understood. From there we shared and created around our thoughts associated with the word and what mental meant for us"
Mental is a vibrant and energetic depiction of the lives of young people who have grown up in Scotland. Devised by the cast and drawn from their own experience, Mental explores the shared experiences, morals and politics of Scottish youth.
Creating and performing Mental was a fantastic experience in ensemble devising with an incredibly committed and talented cast. This was also my first opportunity to perform my own writing and choreography, as well as a chance for the cast as a whole to have creative freedom over what is explored on stage.
